Olympic Torch

Today we all walked into town to watch the torch come through Shrewsbury. It was very exciting. We had all made flags to wave and some of us brought our own flags too. We got to our spot at about 11am and waited for an hour before the torch arrived. The atmosphere was great. Everybody was happy and cheering and waving flags. The torch went right past us and we all got a really good view. We will all remember the day we saw the torch!

ROCKET READERS

Here is our Rocket Readers display. Each class in Key Stage One has a display like this. Each time we read three or more times at home we move along a star. When we land on a planet we win a prize! The first planet is Mercury where we will all receive a bookmark.

Seed Germination Investigation

Today we set up an experiment to test the conditions needed for seed germination. We are trying to find out whether seeds need light, water, soil, warmth and water to germinate or whether they only need some of these things. We have set up a number of experiments so that we can find out. Each thinking group has planted two seeds and will change the conditions for each of their seeds. For example, one group will water their seed and not water another to find out if seeds need water to start to grow. We will be closely observing our seeds over the next few days and weeks to see what happens and we will let you know our results soon.
