WORK OF THE WEEK

We have a new display in our classroom called 'Work of the Week'. 
Each week Mrs Edwards and Mrs Lush will choose some pieces of work to display. This week we have chosen Scarlet's Maths, Daisy's repeating and symmetrical patterns, Maddie's speech writing and Maisy's story plan. Well done to those children. 

It's a boy!

Mrs Pigg had a baby boy on Saturday. They have named him Edward and he was 8lbs 2oz. Acer Class are all very pleased for her and her family and we can't wait for Mrs Pigg to bring him in to meet us all! 

FOREST FRIENDS

Today we braved the snow and cold and went outside for a Forest Friends sessions. Today we used the cameras to take photos of snowy and frozen nature and we also worked in teams to build snow shelters.

Practical Maths

Today we have been learning to add 3 digit numbers. We used the diennes apparatus (hundreds, tens and units) to partition the numbers and add them together. We worked in pairs and helped each other. 

Happy New Term!

Happy  New Year and welcome back to a new school term. This term our topic is Castles, Knights and Princesses. We will be learning all about how how and where castles were built, who lived in castles and we will be designing and making our own model castles. We will be learning about the history of knights and we will also be reading a wide range of stories with knights and princesses as the main characters. There will be lots going on so please log into our Blog regularly and comment on what we have been up to.
