We have been detectives.

During our ICT work this half term we have been trying to solve the case of the missing cake. Miss Goodall has been sending us emails with some clues attached. After looking at all the evidence, we have found out that it was Ms Braddick who took the cake. We have really enjoyed solving this mystery whilst learning how to send emails and email safety.

Ian Whybrow came to visit.

On Tuesday, Ian Whybrow came to our school for the day. He has written over 100 books including Harry and his bucketful of dinosaurs and Meerkat Madness.

Author Study- Francesca Simon

Over the next few weeks we will be reading lots of Horrid Henry books as part of our author study on Francesca Simon. Today we all had a go at writing a blurb for one of the stories we have read so far.

Here are a couple of the blurbs we wrote for 'Horrid Henry and the Secret Diary.'

Peter brings a diary home from school. Does he write nice things or bad things? Miss Lovely wants Peter to read his diary in her assembly. Will she be proud or fooled? What happens in the story? Read to find out.

Beth

Horrid Henry wants to look at Peters diary. Does Henry have a plan? Does his plan work? Does he get told off? What will he write in Peters diary?

Liam H

Well done everyone.

The children have really been enjoying these stories, especially the parts when Henry gets up to no good!!!

Here is the latest 5 Sentence Challenge.
It is officially Spring so theme for this challenge is ‘In the Garden’.Now you may like to write about the different plants that are growing. I know my snowdrops and daffodils are up. Or maybe you have animals like squirrels, hedgehogs, moles and foxes visit. In my garden I have noticed lots of birds starting to nest and have seen lots of blue tits and robins. Of course, the 5SC is about writing creatively so you can make it all up!.It can be anything to do with the theme. If you need a starting point, try to use words such as Spring, garden, birds, bulbs and daffodils in your sentences.
Enjoy writing  your sentences and being creative. Don't forget to post your ideas on our blog so that we can all share them.
Have fun!
